Join us at the Synergy Alberta Conference 2011 for a session with:
Norm MacLeod, Executive Director The Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA)
Managing Complex Multi-stakeholder Teams/CASA 2012-2016 - The Road Ahead
Since 1994 CASA has brokered policy agreements between 400 stakeholders who have participated on dozens of project teams. These teams have achieved some remarkable outcomes, driven by their participants' belief in, and commitment to, collaborative dialogue. But what happens when sweat equity is no longer enough? How can we address progressively more complex issues in a climate of heightened pressure and evolving policy? How can we "elevate our game" as project managers and participants when it is most needed?
Biography
Norm's work as a mediator has produced multi-party land use agreements in every region of Canada and in many developing countries. In 1998 Norm co-mediated Phase One land use discussions for 6.4 million hectares of BC's Central Coast. The resulting agreement was selected by Time magazine as the "number one" environmental achievement of 2000. He has authored several guides for both leaders and participants involved in multi-stakeholder discussions. No longer in private practice, he is keen to build on CASA's 15 year reputation for seeking common ground and creating durable policy recommendations, many of which have shaped Alberta's regulatory framework.
It's not too late to Register!
